CITY GUIDE

Shopping
Retailing in Ann Arbor is suburban on the fringes, a world of its own downtown.

Games & Hobbies

Not surprisingly, a lot of the game world is near campus, including Get Your Game On, on Packard, and Labyrinth, in a State St. basement. Vault of Midnight on Main has comics and graphic novels. Serious pilots of radio-controlled vehicles shop at Rider’s Hobby Shop on Carpenter, which also sells the old-fashioned plugged-in kind. Investment Rarities in Lamp Post Plaza deals in rare coins, currency, and collecting books and kits. Ivory Photo on S. Main is a wonderful resource for photographers who do their own darkroom work. Allstate Billiards & Patio Furniture on Washtenaw caters to dart players and pool sharks.
