Directions: The main UMHS campus is accessible from Fuller Rd., Maiden Ln., Glen Ave., or Observatory St. AATA bus routes 1U, 2, 4, 12UM, and 14 serve UMHS. From the west, take I-94 exit 172 and follow Jackson Rd. It becomes Huron St.; turn left (north) at Glen Ave., which becomes Fuller Rd., and turn right onto E. Medical Center Dr. From the southeast, take Washtenaw Ave. into town, turn right on Observatory St., and turn right on E. Medical Center Dr. From US-23, take exit 39 (Geddes Rd.), go west (Geddes becomes Fuller Rd.), and turn left on E. Medical Center Dr. The East Medical Campus, on Plymouth Rd. east of US-23, includes three major outpatient buildings.
Description: UMHS includes the U-M Medical School. U-M hospitals provide educational, clinical, and research facilities for students and faculty. More than 2,900 physicians, including residents and interns, and more than 3,300 nurses handle more than 42,000 admissions and 1.7 million outpatient visits each year. UMHS researchers receive more than $342 million in research grants each year, allowing the health system to offer new and experimental treatments. Parking and shuttle service: The main parking deck for patients and visitors (Parking A), always open, is off E. Medical Center Dr. next to the Taubman Center and the main entrance to University Hospital and is connected to Women’s Hospital and C. S. Mott Children’s Hospital. The Cardiovascular Center has a garage (Parking C) below street level that is always open and accessible from the intersection of Ann and Observatory sts. A smaller patient parking deck (Parking B), adjacent to the Comprehensive Cancer Center, is open Mon.-Fri. 6 a.m.-11 p.m. and Sat. 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Patient and visitor parking tickets may be validated inside the hospital to obtain reduced rates of $1 for the first hour with a maximum of $2 per exit for each 24 hours. Valet parking is free at the emergency entrance and available for $5/day at the main entrance of Taubman Center / University Hospital, the Cardiovascular Center, and the Comprehensive Cancer Center; hours vary; call 936-6641 for information. Major facilities are served by two free U-M buses: the UMHS Intercampus Shuttle (runs every 20 minutes, 6 a.m.-7 p.m.) and the Mitchell-Glazier bus (runs every 10 minutes, 5:45 a.m.-8 p.m.).

Comprehensive Cancer Center
